The Oak Tree

For many, the oak is the queen of trees. It provides one of the most durable and valuable woods, and can get very old. The acorns and leaves are popular symbols of masculinity, steadfastness and strength.

There are up to 600 species. The oak is the most important deciduous tree in the entire northern hemisphere and grows mainly in mixed forests. It reaches heights of up to 25 meters and is a very steadfast deep-rooter that can withstand any storm. Apart from the fact that she likes it sunny, she has few demands, but is adaptable and robust.

In many ancient cultures, the oak was a sacred tree, a tree of life, a judgment tree, a wise father tree, and the queen of trees. Even today it is a symbol of steadfastness, honesty, loyalty, continuity, firmness, masculinity, immortality and fatherly wisdom. The acorns and leaves are often used as symbols for coats of arms, coins, cards and badges. The Celtic tree horoscope says that those born under the sign of the oak (March 21th) have similar characteristics to the tree. They are bursting with vitality and cannot be beaten. They are good at dealing with conflicts, they are peaceful, down to earth, brave, persistent, courageous and loyal.
